Kayla Midthun, Owner/Founder
I'm Kayla, founder and proud owner of Shine On! In 2022, I took a bold leap and opened Shine On Boutique, and it’s been an incredible journey. I couldn't have done it without the amazing women in our community who believed in my vision and helped create the best preloved shopping experience in the Chippewa Valley! My passion for thrifting started when I was young, and I’ve embraced it as a lifestyle—it’s great for both the wallet and the planet, a total win-win!
I absolutely love the community we’ve built here. From our incredible team to our awesome consignors and shoppers, every day I’m surrounded by inspiring women who uplift me. Being part of this vibrant circle fills my heart with so much joy!
As a lifelong Eau Claire resident, I’m proud to be raising my three kids with my husband, Blayne, in my hometown. In 2017, we opened Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor, which quickly became a local favorite. With Shine On, I wanted to bring the same sense of community and joy, and it’s been amazing to see that dream become a reality!
Meet Our Staff
KAT - Assistant Manager
Kat joined the team spring of 2023. She is a student at UWEC majoring in Communications - Public Relations with a certificate in Creative Writing. She has always had a passion for fashion, specifically second hand garments.

Katelynn - Retail Associate
Joined team Shine On March 2023. She is supported by her husband and little one! Katelynn also owns a jewelry business called Small Town Sisters. “Working at Shine On is always the best way to kick off my week. Its one of my favorite places to be! I especially love meeting all the amazing people who love the store just as much as I do”
Jennifer - Retail Associate
Jennifer joined the team spring of 2024. She is supported by her husband and four daughters. She loves summer as she goes hiking, camping and rock climbing through the US National Parks with her family. “I love the store, visiting with customers, and browsing all the great clothes and accessories!”
Alicia - Retail Assocaite
Alicia joined the team summer of 2024! She is currently a college student studying social work. She enjoys crochet, baking and hanging with her cat outside of work.

Carolyn and Kurt - Unpaid Interns
You may see these two lovely humans in and around the store. Carolyn and Kurt are Kayla's parents! They help us with any handy work and or extra assistance when needed! Paid in Dove chocolate and lots of gratitude!
